Ben is the founder of Wylan Energy. For him, this company is the culmination of nearly a decade of research around business ideas that produce significant and scalable energy efficiency savings.
Ben is from North Carolina.
Ben is a Kauffman Fellow in Class XIV, a former Trustee of Duke University, and a sitting Director of the Rare Cancer Research Foundation. He has a BSE in Environmental Engineering and Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
As Chairman of Wylan Energy, Paul focuses on ensuring high-level execution and due diligence in our efforts.
Paul comes from a background in the equipment leasing business, and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
At the end of 2006 Paul sold his shareholding in ICON. Since then, he co-founded Panthera Leasing, a private equity-backed large equipment lessor of which he is a Principal. Panthera has investments in railcars, aviation equipment, and industrial equipment.
At Wylan Energy, Michael focuses on the dollars and cents that enable our business to function.
Michael comes from a background in financial services, and hails from Georgia.
Michael began his career at Goldman Sachs in their Special Situations Group focusing on structured mid-market investing, he worked at Stifel Nicolaus Weisel as a technology investment banker and he previously was the Director of Finance and Operations at KIXEYE an online gaming company. Michael received a BA from Northwestern University and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge.
Prior to joining Soligent, Mr. Laabs served Climate Bridge’s COO based in Shanghai. Over his years in China, Mr. Laabs has supervised the carbon implementation of more than 100 green energy and energy efficiency projects. He previously helped establish Climate Bridge’s London office and managed transactions with banks, commodity funds, and commercial retailers. Mr. Laabs was formerly a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he ultimately focused on economically attractive energy efficiency opportunities in industrial and manufacturing sectors, with a particular emphasis on the Chinese market. Mr. Laabs has served on the Boards of Nourish International, SEEDS, and the Paradigm Fellowship. He graduated as a Robertson Scholar from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University.
